Vans and horseboxes are in etched brass with white-metal cast detail. The open wagon kits are manufactured in conjunction with Woodham Wagon Works. They consist of cast whitemetal sides, ends, axleboxes, springs and buffers; where appropriate, and etched floor, W irons and brake levers.
All kits include assembly instructions, historical and livery notes, but often only a basic drawing.

415 of these vans were built between 1867 and 1892. The kit
is based on a drawing of 1881. Early construction was of the
8 ton version depicted in this kit. Later construction was
of a 10 ton version which needs additional crown plates for
the underframe. If advised at the time of order we can supply
these at no extra charge (subject to availability). Etched brass kit.

200 of these wagons were built between 1878 and 1895. They
were used for general merchandise and all kinds of mineral
traffic. An additional 40 were built as ballast wagons, some
of them to an earlier dumb buffered design. Whitemetal and etched brass kit. 3ft spoked wheels
and couplings required to complete. |

Etched Brass Kit. At least 160 of these vans were built between
1872 and 1888 to LBSCR Diagram21 (SR Diagram 1564). Identical
vans were built for the Engineers Department and many similar
vans were also built to Diagram 33 (Taller on roof centreline)
and Diagram 27(1.75" narrower). The lantern roof lookouts
seem to have been removed between 1900 and 1910. From 1920
some of them were close coupled in pairs to give extra braking
power. Revenue earning vans disappeared by 1926 but at least
one departmental one lasted until 1938. There were also 2
or 3 on the Isle of Wight Central Railway, but these had detail
differences.

Cast whitemetal and etched brass kit. About 44 wagons were built to this design up to
1899. Another 33 were built from 1879 with 7'6" wheelbase.They
were used in pairs for the transport of timber and other long
items. The last was withdrawn from traffic in 1923. 3ft spoked
wheels and couplings required to complete. |

Typical of thousands of early coal wagons which appeared all
over the country and lasted almost to the grouping. We can
usually supply the correct POW SIDES transfers. 3 ft open
spoked wheels and couplings required to complete. Whitemetal
and etched brass kit. |
Stephenson and Clarke were a major firm of coal merchants
whose wagons could be seen in many areas. They supplied the
LBSCR with loco coal and they were also seen in SECR areas.
This kit can also be taken as typical of thousands of other
P.O. wagons pre-1900. We can usually supply the correct POWSIDES
transfers. 3ft open spoked wheels and couplings required to
complete. Whitemetal and etched brass kit. |

built between 1877 and 1892, the first seven of which
were ballast brakes. Withdrawals started in 1900 and most
had gone by 1919. Some continued in service use on SR.
