NEW PRODUCTS

7mm Scale/'0' Gauge Steel Wheels

After a long wait I am now able to supply these superb turned steel wheels again. All the common carriage and wagon wheels are available as well as several sizes of diesel wheels designed to make the fitting of drive gears easy. (I'm still trying to work out how to turn spoked wheels!). These are in the Price List under 7mm Wheels & Accessories, or in the online shop with photos. (December 2007)

7mm Scale Our 20:1 Gearbox is now available again. Designed to accept the Mashima 1824 or 1833 motor and 3/16" axle. This should be a popular addition to our range. (November 2007)

7mm Scale Very soon I will be releasing 7mm versions of two more of my 4mm kits. They will be 7C8 LSWR/SR 48ft Fruit and Parcels Brake. These ran until the mid thirties. The second kit will be 7C9 LSWR/SR/BR 44ft Bullion/Parcels Van. Being all steel, but looking like wooden bodies, lasted into the 1950s on parcels traffic. Prices should be the same as the other short LSWR coaches. (November 2007)

7mm Scale A third vehicle in preparation is 7C75 LCDR/SR Horsebox which should be popular with all modellers of horse race specials!

7mm Scale I have just completed building a rake of LSWR 48ft coaches for a customer. For these I produced some self-adhesive, coloured partition sheets which just stick to the etched partitions of the kit. These are now available as 7A145 and 7A146. I have also produced them in 4mm Scale as three separate sheets. 4A145 Partitions for full 8ft width compartments, 4A146 Partitions with centre toilet door, 4A147 Partitions with R/H toilet door. Although designed for LSWR coaches they should also suit other 8ft wide compartment stock.

7mm Scale Now available are the new LSWR cross country sets. The kits are 7C22 and 7C23 LSWR 56ft Brake Thirds and 7C108 SR/exLSWR Rebuild 58ft Composite. In LSWR days the sets consisted of two identical brakes with two 48ft compos (7C2 + 7C6). From the mid 1930's the compos were replaced by a single rebuilt composite 7C108. These sets then ran into the 1950's on BR. For further details see the equivalent 4mm kits (4C22 etc)

4mm Scale After a period off the market, new moulds have been made for 4F6 'Parry' dumb buffered private owner wagon and 4F7 'Stephenson and Clarke' dumb buffered private owner wagon. These are very useful kits for modellers of early railways. See them in the Chatham Kits section.

4mm Scale Selling well is 4L5 The GWR Rebuild of MSWJR 4-4-4T No.27. This is a long awaited re-release from the ex-Albion Models range. It has an etched chassis with a cast whitemetal body.

4mm Scale Another re-release is 4RDT11 BR Southern Region Coach Transfers. This rub-down sheet features set numbers, coach numbers and van loads. Some numbers are random while there are also pre-assembled sets as well. This sheet is also available in 7mm as 7RDT11.

7mm Scale Available separately now is 7EMU36. This is the cosmetic SR 8ft9in wheelbase motor bogie frame and castings. Fitted to 7EMU35 it provides a complete SR motor bogie.

7mm Scale The LBSCR E4 0-62T is now complete and in stock. Motor, wheels and gears are available to complete. The initial version is SR/BR with extended smoke box. The surviving loco, 'Birch Grove' has recently been repainted into BR lined black by the Bluebell Railway.

7mm Scale Also now in production are 7C106 and 7C107, which provide the SR/BR Lyme Regis set to run with 7L15 the Adams Radial. Don't forget that the 4mm versions of these kits are still available for the new Finney radial. I can also offer the SR Maunsell underframe 7A254 as a separate item in 7mm, together with SR coach bogies 7A530 and SECR coach bogies 7A524.

7mm Scale In conjunction withThe Broad Gauge Society I am having 7C55 GWR broad gauge Fish Truck produced in 7mm. This is only be available through the BGS. Contact them if you are interested.

Gauge 1 Another trial is for a Gauge 1 Stroudley coach. This has come out quite well. Production will be subject to sufficient interest.

Regulars will know of my support for the Medway Queen paddle steamer preservation society. We have now been successful in getting a £2m Lottery grant. The ship is now a large pile of numbered parts awaiting restoration! There is still a long way to go, so keep buying the lighthouses and scrap brass off my stand at exhibitions.

I am also involved with the group hoping to re-open our local narrow gauge industrial railway between Hampton Waterworks and Kempton Park pumping station. We have received a boost with the offer of a draft lease. If you would like information on either project please drop me an sae or email.

I look forward to seeing you at one of the exhibitions listed in our exhibitions link.

Dave Hammersley.
